Lots of people seem to do Mesmer. I have no first hand experience in the matter however.

Warrior possibly.

I'm not the biggest fan of having a physical class as a secondary. I know a lot of other people thing differently, so don't even think about flaming :P

Any of the caster classes could make a good primary as the Ranger specializes in attacking from range, and casters should be staying at range as well.

Still, there are a number of ranger skills that compliment a warrior well as well with stances, troll unguent, traps, etc.

Dedicating to a pet means you need 2+ skills for the pet alone. 3 or more if you want the pet resembling anything approaching effective. Add in resurrect and a self heal, and you have 3 skills left. So, your best bet is to focus on 1 other attribute, and your passive primary bonus. Read up on those, and choose the one that fits you best.
